°Dedek 'Shepherd' Veverka° |
A fervent, young scienist, agricultural engineer, designer, do-it-yourself man, innovator and musician in one man. Any likeness to a certain I.A. is only coincidential. (1985) |

Daddy´s family stems from Libochovice
that he had studied farming machines since his young age and sought routes to their improvement.
Later on that innocent hobby led him to the professional career of a real
designer.

Veverka often perceived his designing ideas by intuition and as immediately as to be only able to draw them in. Pictured in May 1982, a moment of cognition that Veverka´s mind came to understand at last what ever his hands drew in. Here pictured with his machine of genius,a multi-purpose thrasher, Veverka didn´t have his patent registered in due course (writer´s note: Neither did his ancestors the Veverka Cousins.). The idea was stolen by the then East German company Fortschritt (writer´s note: Like the idea of swing-plough was stolen from his ancestors by a German landlord. History repeats itself.)

Here pictured with a leaflet of the machine E512 Fortschritt (originally his own idea) which Veverka got from his East German friends. When Veverka found out his idea was stolen he got astounded. "Now I go shepherding" he said and left to get the job in the mountains. There he learned to play the Slovak sheperds long pipe and some other whistles and pipes. It was a lot of years later that he unified the techniques of playing on long pipe and flute reaching the quite similar quality of sound which is typical of the recordings by his most beloved band Jethro Tull.
